The night before
the first day of school ~
from a teacher's point of view
I am sitting here after running a
gazillion labels
(everything has to be labeled don't you know?),
thinking of the new crop of kiddos
that I have been entrusted
to teach for the next 178 days!!!
I feel nervous and jittery,
no wait, that was just from the 17th
glass of ice tea that I have drank today.
I AM Excited ~ VERY ExCiTed!!!
I have so many hopes and dreams
for each one of them. And I pray I
will make a positive difference in
their young lives. I have already
been given a love in my heart for each
one of them. I can't wait until
ToMoRRoW!!!
Here are two stories I shared on
parent orientation night
to give some insight as to what
kind of teacher I am and hope to be!
First Story - Daniel
Daniel was a student of mine several years ago.
He attended the Church where my husband
was the senior pastor. One day he was asked
if he knew me.
Daniel said, "Know her, KNOW Her!"
"I am her most favorite person!!!"
(It is my hope that every one of my
students would feel that way)
Second Story
This one happened at Target about
a week ago. I ran into one of my last
year's students with her aunt and cousin.
After we hugged, and talked about books
for awhile, her aunt said to me.
"She loves to read. She reads all the time.
In fact she reads circles around her cousin
and he's in 4th grade!"
I hope this gives insight into
what kind of teacher
I inspire to be.
Thankfully, God always gives me
just the kids that need me.
I love my job!
I am blessed!
Blessings,
Mrs. S.
